Residential – Interior Design – Tuscany, Italy – Concept Design
Nestled in the picturesque Tuscan countryside between Lucca and Pisa, this charming cottage undergoes a full-scale renovation, reimagining both its facade and roof while thoughtfully redesigning the interior spaces.
The design draws inspiration from Vēlthā, the Etruscan god of earth, vegetation, and cyclical renewal. Reflecting the changing seasons and the vitality of the land, the concept emphasizes preserving original features—such as exposed stone walls—while integrating raw materials like steel, wood, and traditional Tuscan terracotta flooring. This harmonious blend of textures creates a warm, rustic, and luxurious atmosphere, echoing the peaceful rhythm of the Tuscan countryside.
Just as Vēlthā embodies growth and renewal, the design reflects the Etruscan philosophy of balance between nature and transformation.
The cottage spans three floors. The main entrance opens into an open-concept living area that includes a living room, dining area, and kitchen, all located on the first floor, along with a guest bathroom. The second floor features three bedrooms, one double and two singles with lofted beds and a bathroom. The ground floor offers a playroom, cinema room, and a wellness bathroom.
This three-story cottage, set against a gentle gradient, offers a seamless connection between traditional charm and modern luxury, creating the perfect retreat to experience the timeless beauty of Tuscany.
